Homemade Blik?

I'm a poor college student living in a boring white walled apartment which of course, we can't paint. I was going to go with Blik" wall decals, but I figure... there has to be a cheaper way! Short of taping paper to the wall, can you crafty girls think of a DIY way? It obviously doesn't have to be the same material, but just the same concept- shapes on the wall, but not permanent.
