fleece veggies, yey!
Oct. 9th, 2006 08:20 pmMy favorite local fabric store had a sale on fleece ($4.99 a yard!) so I got GOBS of it. I'm working on a Chopper hat for a friend, a jack 'o lantern cap for my 2 year old neice (similar to this one), and a bunch of monsters to sell at an upcoming convention. The project I actually finished so far was a fleece basket of vegetables.

more pictures under the cut

in the basket; carrot, eggplant, corn, 2 yams and a radish

I sewed corn kernel detail on the corn >____< it was tedious and took forever (but it's only on the front, the back is covered with husk)

the radish! I love the little radish spooty root end :)

"what is for dinner?"
"A yam."
This project took me roughly 2 weeks to finish and the corn is my favorite even though it took the longest. Everything has thread that matches the fleece color (because I was ocd about that) The corn 'hair' is superpale yellow embroidery floss. I sewed the 'eyes' on the yams in the car on the way to a wedding :P All of the patterns for the vegetables were made up on the spot, for the most part they all consist of 3 panels. This was so much fun to make :) Yey fleece!
