little badger (halloween)
Oct. 31st, 2006 10:33 amHi crafty folks! I just wanted to post a picture of how the halloween costume I made for my daughter turned out. She's going as a dancing badger from Weebl's dancing badger animation that was circulating around the internet a while ago.
I used a Simplicity pattern for a toddler skunk costume and modified it so that the paws were fold-over mitts (in case it was cold on Halloween, and also so I'd have somewhere to put little claws, which were made from a shiny black raincoat material). I followed the head pattern exactly and it came out really badly, but I was able to kluge it for fit and then appliqued more fur over it to make the stripes. Fleece fur is VERY forgiving and hides a lot of bad sewing (I sew like Jack Sparrow on crack). I wish I had a back picture (I'll have to take one tonight), because the tail turned out pretty well (and it makes me laugh).
