dying felt hats
Nov. 12th, 2006 04:38 pmso i found a felt hat in a thriftstore. think like a men's hat, not a beret or something like that, but still felt.
i'm pretty much obsessed with it, but i didn't buy it because its tan and i'm unsure if i'd be able to wear a tan hat and pull it off. but being the hat fiend i am, i desperatly want to own it anyway.
do you think i might be able to dye it? i don't want to chance ruining the felt by soaking it with hot water (or any water, really...), nor do i want to end up with a brown ring around my forehead every time i wear it.
i'm intimidated by it because i've heard stories about felt hats disintegrating or becoming weak after being soaked, but you'd think it would be ok because... its felt, ya know?
