questions about resin
Dec. 9th, 2006 06:02 pmi got the brilliant idea to make my sister earrings for christmas using scaled-down pictures of vintage propaganda posters. but i'm having trouble figuring out how to do it. i was thinking of using resin, but i have no experience with it and i'm not sure what i should use as a mold. ice-cube trays are a little too square for what i want, although i could probably make them work. i also don't know how well paper would hold up inside resin. does anyone have any experience with this?
if worse comes to worse i could simply laminate the images with contact paper but i want something a little more professional.
any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
thanks in advance.
EDIT: i ended up covering the images in hot glue and then filing the edges to give them a smooth and polished look. i think they turned out really well and i'll post pictures after christmas. (i'm too worried my sister will look at my entry if i post them now!)
