100 tubes of chapstick on the counter........100 tubes of chapstick, take one down give it away for XMas, 99 tubes of chapstick on the counter, 99....
It was our 3rd year making lip balm for Christmas and it was just as fun as ever!
Here is our process:
Bought the empty tubes online, I think it was called the Chemistry Store, but I could be mistaken (I bought them in August)
Bought the following ingredients (for 100 tubes worth of lip balm):
These ingredients are all for a recipe we follow from an old issue of ReadyMade (I love you ReadyMade!)
8 oz. almond oil
4 oz. shea butter
4 oz. beeswax
peppermint essential oil
vitamin e drops
Melted all that yummy stuff together over a double boiler
Bought some eye droppers from our local pharmacy and filled those babies to the top.
Then waited until it hardened and like MAGIC..... lip balm!!
I designed the labels on photoshop and sized them to fit. They say "j and h lip lotion - it's the balm"
Printed, cut and taped to each tube by hand.
And we get the pleasure of knowing our loved ones will not have chapped lips all year!
