Christmas Crafting :)
Dec. 25th, 2006 05:32 pmGetting a digital camera for Christmas has enabled me to finally make a post!
I don't know how to reoptimize photos, so these are pretty big. Consequently, I'm cutting all my pictures.

I guess you ought to know that I love birds, namely my own bird, Trixie. (see icon.) I knew my mom was felting me a bag... but wow. Anyway, its not my work (I hope I'm allowed to post it, if not I'll take it down) but it was so beautiful I wanted to share it. The bag is hand knit, then felted, and then she needle felted Trixie onto it. It looks like a painting... I thought it was really beautiful.

Better picture of the budgie

And that's actually my work, a christmas stocking that I knit for- you guessed it- Trixie. (its filled with bird toys and millet) It was really easy, the embellishments are knit seperately and then sewn onto the stocking, so it didn't take me a very long time. Up untill this point I've only ever knit really simple things- a few hats and alot of scarves- and this was a really good intermediate sort of project I think. I don't like knitting sweaters, it takes so long I get sick of it, and whenever I want a beautiful sweater I ask my mother for it. There's actually a knit sweater that matches the bag, teal with pewter bird buttons... but I guess that's for another post.
Anyway, happy holidays!
