Autumn leaves
Jan. 25th, 2007 06:39 pmNow that I know my customer is happy with her pieces in their final form, I can post the update to my last BRC post (in which I showed one of the pendants with oxidized veins, but no colorful finish....as well as the design sketch for a completely different, and much more elaborate commission).
This is how the oak pendant shown last time turned out, once I got the "Autumn-wash" finish on, in a way that satisfied me:

And, this is how the other pendant, a ginko, turned out:

I am glad she wanted the ginko to have this finish, because I think it really brought out the otherwise subtle texture of the leaf. I think I still prefered that oak with only oxidized veins, though. Ahh well. She loves 'em, and I'm at peace with them...so it's all good. :-)
