SOAP QUESTION!

Well hello ladies, and lads (i'm sure there are a few around, right? ;) ) I was just thinking about making my BFF a necklace that had to do with one of her favorite things, Fight Club. Maybe it would be in the shape of a bar of soap and have "fight club" on it...and then it punched me in the throat: why not just make her soap? So, in my fit of brilliance (ah ha, ah ha) I thought of making her pink soap with the words "Fight Club" carved into it. (I looked in the memories, and maybe i'm dense, but I didn't really find any help...)
so, to my question:
How would I go about carving the letters into it? Or should do it reversed wise, and have the letters imprinted into the soap, which i would also be a novice in doing.
I've never made soap before (I figured i would use a kit, y'know) so I'm not sure of what to do, any suggestions? Should I make a mold, and if so, how? out of what?

I would make this un text-only, but I have yet to upload any pictures of my recent necklaces and I don't really have the time to do that now. So hopefully soon! :D
