Is painting crafty? I think it is. I hope it is. Because I really don't want to have to join a painting community because I'm already involved in waaay too many communities already.
Anyway.
I'm working on my art portfolio for college and I really want to do an acrylic painting. I have scoliosis so the painting will be of my crooked spine. I'm planning on doing the background black, because the ribs and vertebra, etc. are going to be in really bright colours, pink, lime green, bright blue and such. I'm worried that if I paint the whole canvas black that the bright coloured paints will look dull over top of it. I was thinking I could paint the bones white over the black and then go over top with the colours but I'm just not sure, I've never really painted before. Can anyone offer up some suggestions? I don't want to go out and buy a huge canvas and then ruin it.
