This is my first embroidery project, inspired by you all of course ;) I have always enjoyed arts and crafts, but have been on a "dry spell" for a long time...that is until I joined this community and since spent 1/4th my paycheck on random art supplies o.o; I am starting a horde of random supplies! Anyhow, like I said, my first project so there are many mistakes, but I am still satisfied. I got the canvas clutch at Jo-Anne's and replaced the handle with one more suitable to the theme. I love the culture of India and I love elephants, so that was my choice :) The ely is nothing more than el-cheapo felt. I was testing out different methods of embroidery; running stitch, backstitch, French knot, whipped backstitch, palestrina, blah blah, just simple one's until I get the hang of it. Anyhow, I had SO much fun with this, I am ready to jump into craftland! Sorry, the photos are HORRIBLE I have a ghetto camera and will be buying a new one soon hopefully, if I stop buying craft supplies.
