Unraveling sweaters

i have a question... has anyone ever gotten ahold of a sweater and unraveled it for reuse? I have a bunch of sweaters (machine-knitted) in front of me that I want to unravel, but i'm not having much luck. Does anyone know the quickest, or at least, the easiest way to do this?
