Last weekend, I went to a tye-dyeing party and it was a blast. I made lots of great things but the best was my expiremental tye-dyed yarn. I think it turned out great, in alternating strips of fuchsia/white and orange/white.
Here's a picture of my skein with rubber bands. I just unrolled a skein of white Sugar N' Cream and put lots of rubber bands anywhere I could.
Here's what it looked like after I dyed it and took the rubber bands off. It looks like half would be orange and white while the half would be fuchsia and white. The orange was a complete accident, I thought I had dipped it into red. But the color scheme turned out great.
But then I got a ball of stripy orange/fuchsia and white.
Interesting to me, was that the stripes went orange, white, orange, white for awhile before switching back to fuchsia, white, fuchsia, white. It was like stripes of stripes.
