Introduction

Hi everyone.

My name is Opal and I'm a 29yo living in Honolulu Hawaii which is on the island of O'ahu for those that didn't know.

I've been a crafty kinda gal since I was 7. That's when I learned to crochet and knit. Of course I put it down during my tom boy days but I went back to it when I was about 11 years old, picking it up and putting it down as whim would take me.

For the past 5 years I've been a constant knitter amongst other things. My most favorite thing to knit is socks. Very portable and there's enough challenge in the heel and possible patterns in the leg to keep my happy.

I have also picked up tatting, kumihimo/japanese braiding, beading, cross-stitch, spinning (fibre), a little bit of very amateurish weaving and PMC. The PMC is the newest hobby I have. I just started this year and I've been so busy that I haven't had as much time as I wish to devote to it. (Did that make sense?)

I want to pick up sewing again. I'm losing weight and need new skirts and pants. I learned how to sew in juniour high so I just need to brush off my rusty skills. I've really enjoyed the posts here on beginning sewing and wanted to say thanks to you all. I have patterns galore. Now I just need to go through my mother's stash for material :)
