fascinators!

I am currently really fascinated by fascinators (hahah I know, I'm so lame). Although I kind of have an idea of how to do it, I dont exactly know what is going on. If anyone has made some before, would you mind posting some photos for inspiration and maybe some tips/advice on how to make your own?

I assume that you just get some kind of hair clip or comb and hot glue feathers, beads, fabics, items of interest, etc. and hope that it turns out good! I don't want anything too elaborate, just something that will spice up an otherwise casual look, and ad some interest to my otherwise boring hair. What kind of hair clips work the best? is hot glue the best adhesive or will it look cheap/melt the feathers? is there some kind of base that you add stuff onto?
