craftgrrl | First Pleated Skirt (Reply)

Hi there. This is my first time posting to this community, but I have really enjoyed "watching" it and seeing all the awesome creativity that abounds here! I wanted to share my first attempt at sewing a pleated skirt. I'm a beginner seamstress just learning by doing, and figuring out how to do pleats was really exciting for me. I picked up this fabric without a project in mind, and I had made simple A-line skirts before but wanted something more dramatic for The King. So here's what I came up with. The yoke is pretty wide because I like a nice thick waistband on skirts. It has a back zipper. And yes, that is black velvet trim.
