Another felt issue: adhering felt to felt?

Bleh. One more felt question. What's the best thing to glue or otherwise adhere felt to felt, hopefully while remaining reasonably nontoxic?

I'm piecing the parts together of different colored felt on a felt background (think Eric Carle collages), and I'm using a glue stick as of right now, but it's not holding well enough... my two year old will have a field day pulling the bits apart and I will have to cry or kill him, neither of which is a particularly attractive option. :)

I promise I'll post pics when I'm done. :)
