Here's the crafty bits of my Halloween costume this year. I was Malice in Wonderland, a costume mostly inspired by my beloved skeleton flamingos and a dress I found at Goodwill a few months ago for $3.50. Usually I make my whole costume, but my craftiness this time was limited to my accessories.

Here's me in my costume, looking vaguely crazy and extremely pale thanks to the flash and a lot of makeup. (You can't see the detail on the dress, which is a shame, because it's really beautiful. I also needed to pull my petticoat up, but oh well.)
And here's the stuff I actually made:

The "Drink Me" bottle is (obviously) a Jack Daniels bottle with a new label; my murdered white rabbit was originally a baby rattle. I'm really proud of that bottle -- it seems simple, but it took some serious Photoshoppery to properly mimic the Jack Daniels label while making sure the bottle was clearly labeled "Drink Me." You can't see it, but there are passages from Alice in Wonderland on the sides of the label. It was a hit at the party I went to. The rabbit on the other hand was a bit of a disappointment compared to what I had in my head originally -- unfortunately, I didn't have time to sew up a rabbit and, as I discovered, it is virtually impossible to find a plain stuffed rabbit for under $40.
A bonus picture:

This is my dog, Marius. He was a pretty good sport about being a Killer Bee.
