Lots o' Xmas gifts!
Jan. 3rd, 2008 06:43 pmI finally took the time to get my pics off my camera from all the holiday celebrations! And I remembered I hadn't yet posted the rest of my presents.
This scarf I made for my 14yr old niece. It's all speech bubbles with chat lingo. I made it with arctic fleece and sewed two colors together so it's reversable. One side is a gorgeous green and brown stripe the other is solid brown. I also reversed the fringe so the opposite colors are on either side. I was VERY happy with the final product. It's probably the biggest project I've done since it was all hand sewn and I never sew!!! Funny that two days after I finished it, my mom gave me a sewing machine for Xmas! :p

I had to translate a few for my sis, so here's what it says:
OIC (oh i see!)
ORLY? (oh really?)
BRB (be right back)
LOL (laughing out loud)
GR8 (great!)
MYOB (mind your own business)
ROFL (rolling on floor laughing)
IDK (I don't know)
BFF (best friends forever)
W/E (whatever)
OMG (oh my god!)

action shot:

This is a little photo stand I made for my mom. I just used a pre-cut heart shaped wood from Michaels and painted it with purple and sequins. I took polaroids of myself, my sis and my niece making funny faces and put them in the wire holders. One problem I had was with sealing the paint to give it that gloss and keep it from chipping. I used an acrylic spray sealer that I had and it was REALLY stinky! I felt bad giving it to her cuz it still stinks even after letting it air out a week! Are there any sealers that don't totally reek?

Made a ton of marble magnets for co-workers and my sis. I used random scrapbooking papers with moulin rouge and old french logos and some playing cards.

This is just a knitted cap that I bought and made a fleece patch for (handsewn). It's a spirit bear for my stepdad

another I made for my boytoy. Kinda a joke because he had a serious raccoon infestation last year. Months of no sleep and boarding up every hole around his house. He finally found the nest, used the babies as live bait and captured the mom. I gave it red bead eyes because he now thinks all raccoons, squirrels and rats are evil *he has problems with everything at his house!* He loved it and wears it all the time :)
