kabuki warrior artwork
Jan. 8th, 2008 01:35 pmThis is a paper project I made for my friend John for Christmas. Four pieces of glass were layered and then framed. Each glass shingle displays a piece of paper artwork. Once layered together the pieces of artwork seem to float between the panes, giving the Kabuki warrior depth and dimention.
The Kabuki character was made by individually cutting different types of paper and then assembling each piece by layering them atop each other. It took a while.
Materials used:
Origami paper
Black ink pen
Glues stick
Acetate
Black Marker
Glass shingles
Black frame
Scissors
Pencil
I think it came out well. Unfortunately, it was hard to capture the full effect with a camera, as the flash made it hard to record the shadows each layer casts.
