Prototype hats
Feb. 23rd, 2008 02:21 pmI'm working on designing a couple hats for future cash acquisition.

Closeup of the newsboy cap. It's decorated with a WWII-era Aeronaut Badge (aka Baloon Pilot badge) replica I scored off eBay.

A better shot of the hat as a whole. Seams need to be pressed out a little, but you get the gist. Pay no attention to the grubby wench in the hat. :)
(In awesome news, within a couple minutes of posting this shot...literally...it was up for about 5 minutes max, someone posted a comment saying he'd like one. Score!)

Prototype the second: soldier cap. I've seen them called a billion different things. It's a crap shot... for some reason, I couldn't get a good non-blurry angle. I'll have to fix that later.

Side view, somewhat better. This little guy gave me some problems, so the stitching around the top is kinda borked. The hat band will be embellished at the ends.
And, in non-hat work, I made another apron.

Arr. I love wearing aprons in the kitchen, as I'm a total slob when I cook, but I want to avoid that Donna Reed style. I made another in a tattoo-inspired red fabric from Joanns, but I haven't taken a pic yet and I think it's in the wash.
So I've been busy. :)
