So I've been on a quest to use up at least 50% of my yarn stash in the next 3-ish years (that '101 things in 1,001 days').

And, since I'm a bit rusty, I thought I'd start out with the basics - a scarf! It's made with purple and pink Bernat Boa, and unfortunately I had to buy another skein. So I used up three and bought one, two down!

It turned out a lot nicer than I thought - it's just a stockinette stitch on medium-sized needles.

Then somewhere along the way I bought nine more skeins of yarn. So I was plus six... time to pull out the big guns! Giant needles and four skeins of Patrons Pebbles (which I got on sale for $0.97 each) and I had a shawl!

I didn't like the yarn before it was knit, but I admit this looks pretty good. I used a Lion Brand pattern* someone had pointed out earlier (basically you start with three stitches and add one on the beginning and end of each row, and each row is knit). I think I'd like it to be a little... longer to the point, but no wider, so if I did it again I think I'd only increase every other row. But it's not bad for a $4 shawl!

So now I'm only up two skeins... o.O
