Here are a few new paintings for the gallery showing The first one is of a crow in front of the night sky. I like how it turned out but at one point I had the sky how I really wanted it then I kept playing with it and ended up over working it. It took a lot of time working it to get it to a point where I liked it again (It doesn't look much like it originally did)

Second painting is of a river otter and I am not sure how much more work I am going to do on it (I am letting it sit for a bit before I start on it again. I also had the background at one point where I liked it more but once again I am pretty happy with it. If nothing else I need to learn when to stop and wait a bit when it is at a point where I like it. I think that it is one of the hardest lessons to learn for an artist is when a painting is done to step away and leave it alone!!!

Also if anyone has any ideas or tips on having your first gallery showing (what do I bring, do I give away promo gifts? What to wear and who to invite please feel free to comment or email me. The time is coming up sooner than I would like and there is just so much that I don't know :)
