Kiln Questions
Mar. 26th, 2008 10:21 pmHey all you lucky ladies who own kilns...
I'm looking into purchasing This small kiln and had some questions about owning one.
Where do you ladies keep your kilns? I have a craft room which is where I was planning to store and fire mine in, and a table set up next to a window so I can vent out that great smelly firing kiln smell...and a fan is in my purchasing plan. Since we have really old shaggy carpet throughout the house I was planning on sitting the kiln up on cinder blocks on the table to keep it off the carpet. I know the outside of these gets really hot so I'm wondering if you all think that's the best route to go or if something else may be better.
Next question...it's a small kiln and it'll run on a house curcuit but we have an old house with so-so wiring. I was wondering if any of you have had any problems running yours in your house and what you did or think I should do to make running it easier/safer.
Also...digital or manual?
I've been planning on getting one for a long time now so I'm really excited. ^_^ Any advice you all have is greatly appreciated.
Sorry about the text only. My life for the last few monthes has been devoted to cleaning my craft room. But it's finally almost done now. Hoorah! ^__^
Thanks in advance! <3
