craftgrrlThought I would post some recent pieces I made. Ah sew sew sew sew.
The top is made from vintage fabric from the 50's that my Nana found in her house a while ago. It's lovely fabric, and I'm impressed it's still like new. I wish I'd had more to make a dress.
The pattern was drafted off an old shirt pattern I had and a new collar made. All the piping around the edges is made my me with duchess satin. All the insides, binding and small details are sewn by hand.
And my new petticoat. I love petticoats and I love more having then in bright colours so they show under the dresses when I walk. This is made from simple polycotton. Hell of a lot of gathering in it, two layers. That is the downside with petticoat making, the amount of gathering you have to do. The bottom is decorated with satin ribbon. I can't wait to wear it out.
