365 days of crafts
Apr. 10th, 2008 07:54 pmSo, I got this idea (though surely, I'm not the first to have it) to start a craft diary and try to make at least one crafty thing a day for the next year. Anyone else did this? How was it? Hopefully, within that span of time, I can learn and try new things. Right now, I'm just your basic beader. Loop a piece of wire here, insert a bead there, and I know there's so much more to this whole thing!
Oh and just curious. Does creativity in making crafts also have to extend in naming your creations? I mean, I honestly just cannot come up with nice titles or names. And even when I do, they don't sound as nice or fitting as some people do with theirs. Ever felt that way? What's your take on this?
Murano beads (or at least that's what the clerk told me), freshwater pearls, and silver-tone metal rose beads. I'm thinking of making another one for my mom for mother's day.

Round mother of pearl shell beads, amethyst chips, and tiny gold seed beads. This came out better than I thought it would.

Err...I don't know what the blue beads are called, all I know is I had a heck of time trying to wrap the wire around it since it was really fragile and I was scared it would crack. As you can tell, I'm a follower of the "less is more" school.

This looks better when it's worn, you can't really see the teardrop shapes of the beads when it's laid out.

Really, really, really simple necklace that I intend to use (or have someone else use) at the beach. No clasps. I figured it'll make it easier to put it on and take it off. Oh and the best part, when it's worn, you can't really tell that all the beads (save for the seed beads) are made of acrylic. Nice pretty shimmer!
