I attempted crepes for the very first time and they came out so wonderfully that I felt compelled to share:

I filled them with blackberries and ricotta cheese, then sprinkled with a little powdered sugar. They really were yummy.

And just in case cooking isn't quite crafty enough,

It's just made out of a bunch of leftover bits of Red Heart acrylic. I didn't use a pattern at all; in fact, I was just fooling around, trying to make circles while using an alternating pattern of sc, dc. When I got that to work I haphazardly made the circles into squares using the off-white yarn. Then I thought, what the heck, I might as well do something with them. So, I figured out the number of stitches I'd need to make them fit together evenly if I used two additional sizes and when that worked I jotted down a little pattern of putting them together, made a few more of the squares and . . . . well, that's the result.

It's only about 32" x 32" so it's not really useful for a lap blanket and it's not soft enough for a baby, but my cat loves it and has claimed it for his own.

(And yes, that's a Harry Potter - Hogwarts fleece blanket from Hot Topic on my bed. I may be almost 40, but I'm still geek.) At least the little blanket I made keeps the cat hair off the fleece!
