Bacon is from pigs, not Rhinos.
May. 18th, 2008 03:26 pmToday is Sunday, and Sunday is Bacon Day at my house. Saturday is pie (meat pie - sort of like pot-pies for you Americans) day, but Saturday is gone and now it is Bacon Day. Rejoice!
Bacon Day is a day of pjs (actually, who am I kidding, pjs are suitable attire for the whole weekend), listening to the radio, and keeping toasty warm with slippers and a a belly full of bacon.

I had my very first commission recently, which I was very excited about! But like everything in life, it was a rather steep learning curve and boy have I learned. One of the biggest lessons was to wait for at least a deposit before you craft the item, no matter how excited you are about the design and Just Can't Wait To Start On It Right Now.

Ignacio is a white Rhino (an endangered species) and he's hand-sewn from my first attempt at wet felting, and he also sports my first ever hand-embroidered Two Cheese Please tag. He's about 10 inches long and 6 inches tall, and is stuffed with polyfill so he's cuddly and rotund. Look at that junk in his trunk!
On his back is Pascal, his nit-eating bird-brained friend, made with felt and spunk, and isn't removeable as Ignacio would be lost without him.
So now my commissioner has vanished and her poor little Rhinoceros is homeless!
