I was so excited about finishing this I just had to post it. Sorry for the crappy flash pictures.

I really needed a bigger bag, so I made myself a backpack.
Photobucket

The front (under the fringed flap)

With a zipper pocket.

The lining. There's an open-top pocket on the front, and another zipper pocket on the back. I love this fabric, even though it's all Little House on the Prairie

The back of the backpack has a big open-top pocket too.

It's a shoulder bag.
But take the strap (made from an old necktie) out of the D-rings..

Run it through the loop in the back...

And back through the D-rings...

And it's a backpack!

I can't wait to wear it. I tried taking pictures in the mirror of myself wearing it, needless to say I have only lovely photos of the top of my dresser and my ample hips (do I really look like that from the back? Blech!) I'm not too happy with how the bias tape around the top looks, I probably won't do that again. Do you think I should do something to the side edges of the flap?

Also, here are some hemp necklaces I've been making.

I have a couple more of these to make (mine was the guinea pig), so if anyone's interested I could make a tutorial.

How was your day?
