Pirates and Fairies, oh my!
Jun. 7th, 2008 08:49 pmOn Deviantart.com I've gotten involved with some swaps. I've decided to try to craft as much of the swap stuff as I can, supplementing with other local or random nice things. Anyway, it's been an excuse to craft like crazy - which is always good!
Here are the things for swap #1:

made: chest (sort of... painted anyway), dreamcatcher, wire-bound pendant, origami owl, and the fairy portrait/collage.
Swap #2:

made: friendship bracelets, wire-bound pendant, chest (stained/painted anyway), fairy portrait/collage, origami owl, and blue yarn wristies.
Now for some close-ups! *rubby hands together*
You can get these little wooden boxes at most craft stores I've found. I stained them inside and out, sanded them to get a bit of an aged feel, painted ships on them like those old nautical chests you sometimes see, and put the girls' screennames on them.

I also made a pirate map for one of them...

Here are close-ups of the two fairy portraits:

I drew and colored the fairies and made the backgrounds and wings out of some pretty collage paper. You can't tell from the picture, but they're sparkly and glittery. :)
For anyone who's curious, my deviantart page is: jamberry.deviantart.com.
As always, thanks for looking!
