Zombie Squirrel
Jul. 17th, 2008 04:03 pmDisclaimer: I did NOT do this craft.
I just had to show off the awesomely amazing job my husband (
whyalostone) did on this zombie squirrel he made for his best friend, Sam (
bigfattyplus).

For Sam's birthday, my husband decided to create a mixture of two of Sam's favorite things: Squirrels and Zombies. Thing is, he hadn't ever sewed anything other than the zombie bunny which wasn't really "realistic".
But I have a book that helped a lot.
He sat down, copied the pattern and then we went and bought some nice fabric.
He's still afraid of the sewing machine, so he did the whole thing by hand.
Here are just a few shots of Scabby the Squirrel:

Oh, Hey there Scabby... how's it going, buddy.
Um... Scabby? There's a little something... on... your neck...

My God, Scabby! Did someone... BITE YOU??

Well, what's that you've got there? Is it...
wait. That looks like--

Dear Lord, I think that's ...
well, hell, is it nuts?

No? Oh, my. Oh my God.
Scabby... no!

Nooooooo!!!!
Okay, now that I've had my fun, I have to tell you that the only help I gave, aside from advice, was sewing the velcro, creating thenut sack badly done brain and the bite marks, nasty looking eyes and amazingly adorable, yet frightful mouth. And the photography.
Details of thenut sack brain:

and this is how I packed him up to be shipped off to Florida:

Sam got it a week or two ago and loves it. I don't blame him. I'm totally proud of my man's work and my collaboration with him. We make a good team (and he's currently thinking of what other animals in my book he can turn into zombies).
