Playin around in the meantime
Aug. 16th, 2008 10:57 pmI'm waiting on more yarn to come in for the Mario Scarf, but until then I'm working on other fun projects.

My craft room yesterday before I took some initiative and cleaned it up. I'm sure some of you can relate.

I decided to visit Sam Flax (Atlanta) to stock up on blank stationary and play around with the Gocco again. I held off on using my second (and last for now) screen until I could think of something good. I found these knitting hands in a Google Image search and thought it would be perfect to Gocco print. Two colors, relatively easy... Turns out I'm not a total Gocco genius yet, but I'm working on it.

I was trying to find a good way of lining up the image for the second layer of ink and all I had around me was Shrinky Dink plastic. So I marked the corners of the Gocco pad on the plastic, made a print, and slid the cards underneath to line it up.

Turns out that Gocco ink is shrinkable. It smells a little, but it works. A-ha!

I made a few more prints on the opaque white Shrinky Dink plastic to shrink maybe on Monday when I have more time. Should be fun.

Here's a little Mario magnet I made with Shrinky Dinks for someone who won a prize on my blog.

Mmmm, yummy yummy handspun!

Turned it into a yarn cake for plying.

A Noro bag to felt on Monday.
That's all!
