And when I made them, I was bored. It was a few years ago now, but they're still one of the most unique things I wear, and sure to catch attention. Nothing like people asking "Where did you BUY that?" with awe in their voice, only to tell them you made it. :D

I used some black fabric scraps I had lying around after making a RennFair costume, and sandwiched some iron-onnish interfacing between them. Finished the edges with double-fold bias tape, and used a couple of iron-on patches I picked up from Wal*Mart to make it pretty. There are something like 56 eyelets between the two of them, and I swear I hammered my thumb 73 times putting them on (behold, my undeniable grace). I went out and bought some dark red ribbon to lace them on, and they're still in good condition today, after years of wear.

The only issue is that the iron-on adhesive is finally beginning to give a bit, and some of the corners are coming up. I could go and stitch the whole thing back on, but I'm lazy today. I could also use glue, but I haven't had the best experiences with glue on fabric. Suggestions?

If anyone wants to try making these, I've got two tips: make sure the wrist is narrower than the part that goes around the arm, and sand the eyelets down on the inside before you wear it for the first time. :D
