Okay, so today I went to Michaels and picked up some pretty charcoal and petal pink cashmere yarn on a whim. I've never actually crocheted myself anything, so I decided I'd treat myself to a scarf to wear on my trip to Montreal next month.

I found this pattern, which is actually for a dress, but I wanted to make a bubble scarf instead. The directions are simple and I understand them. It's just, I can't get through the damn stitch. I yarn over and insert the hook into the stitch, as instructed. I get 3 stitches on the hook. But, when I go to do this again (yarn over/insert into stitch), it gets so tight that it's nearly impossible! I'm giving plenty of slack and I didn't crochet anything tightly to begin with.

How can I get this looser so I can make the bubbles? This has me so frustrated I'm fixing to throw this stuff across the room. :[
