[identity profile] malicious-pengy.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] craftgrrl
Edited to add my owl pieces, the lamp-owl, and some reactions from the other people on my floor.

I love the whole crafting culture I'm starting to see...

This isn't mine, but I love this tattoo.

Also, as another follow-up to the amazing stuffed owl tutorial by [livejournal.com profile] sandydanger, here's the one owl I've actually completed. (I have a bunch of half-owls, but haven't actually bothered to go buy buttons or stuffing, so...oh well.)

Another craftgrrl posted her version of the owls. She was adding lavender and hanging them on hangers to scent her clothes. People were commenting on the entry about any other possible use for the owls, and I suggested filling them with rice to make handwarmers. I have since changed my mind. I think it might just be too little rice - I didn't put this guy in for very long, and he burned horribly. He still looks okay (this picture is post-burn) but he smells like burned rice. I'm probably just going to have to rip him open and get rid of all the rice before my roommate starts to complain about the smell. It's a cold freaking November, and I still have all possible windows open. I really wanted to draw stink-lines on that photo. Oh well, as Edison would have said, first I discovered a thousand ways not to make a stuffed owl. Gah. Even my hands smell. My neighbor was talking to me, and said, "God, some people need to learn how to microwave," and two more girls walked by saying, "Wow, it just smells so bad in here." Argh.

This is the lavender owl entry. Also, I was thinking that it would be cool when someone posts a tutorial and multiple people follow it, it would be cool to link between all the entries, just to see how different people can do different things with the same basic idea.
