Shrines/Icons...and a gift question.
Nov. 9th, 2008 11:36 amWow, it's been a while since I've posted here. I'm currently working on my "household saints," which are wooden/multimedia "icons" or shrines I've been creating of my personal heroes.

Here's a finished one of my dog, Bridger. I made it from wood, paint, modge podge, and though you can't see it well in this pic, I superglued a leftover metal nut plate to the bottom to serve as a votive holder.

This one's a work in progress. Cut-out photograph, acrylic paint.
And now for the gift question: is it weird to give people pictures of themselves as gifts? I was going to do some collaged artwork+photos for holiday gifts, but then I had second thoughts! So...what do you think?
