Slightly belated Halloween costumes!
Nov. 16th, 2008 04:58 pmI know it's already the middle of November, but I thought it would be better late than never, so here you go! Warning: Some large pics!
So, last year I made costumes for my boyfriend and I. We were Jack the Ripper and a dead prostitute, complete with slit throat and fake uterus. We had a blast walking around Salem. We were totally a hit, there were a million people taking pictures of us! The costumes took a looong time to make, too. I even made his top hat.

And this year, it was a toss up between a dead JFK and Marilyn Monroe, or the Mad Hatter and Chesire Cat. The latter won, because I've always wanted to be the Chesire Cat:)

These didn't take that long to make. The hardest part was trying to get my stripes to match up on each piece of my corset. I couldn't find any pink and purple striped fabric, so I had to buy the 2 colours and sew the stripes. And no, I didn't freeze too much lol. The ears were fun to make, and I totally loved my tail :)
You can't see them in the picture, but he had long tails on the back of his jacket. It's actually made of really shiny purple fabric that I put sheer black over to make it look a little "goth-er." And the first time he tried it on, I started cracking up and said he looked like a gay Charles Dickens lol! I do love the man, though.
P.S. Comments/criticism is most welcome!
