Die Cutters?
Nov. 22nd, 2008 04:14 pmHello thar, craftgrrls!
I am looking for advice on a die cutter. It will be my first. I want something that will cut through fabric, felt, foam, etc. I'm mostly looking to use it for crafting with my daughter. I need something sturdy and under a hundred bucks. I would also love something that has a wide range of (what do you call them?) plates/templates/cuts or accepts other cuts, like a cricut on a sizzix, etc. Do they have machines that do that?
I like the Sizzix Big Shot cutter, but I'm not sure if it's mainly b/c it's cutesy, pink and black. I've been reading reviews and what I think I understand is that the Big Shot and the Big Kick are essentially the same machine and both take a wider range of cuts.
Then I started thinking that maybe I want something by someone else, not Sizzix. I started looking around and I see machines like "Cricut" and "Cuttlebug".
Anyway, I was hoping to get some advice and opinions from someone who has worked with a few different machines and knows what's what.
Thanks in advance.
I'm sorry if this gets asked every other day. I scrolled a bit and didn't see it, so forgive me if my noob is showing.
