Kyuuto books?

First of all, you should all be aware that Chronicle Books is running a sale through December 5th via their website, wherein everything is 35% off AND there's free shipping. (There was a post about it on Craftzine, and I linked to it on my craft blog as well - these are two different links, so one of them should work, but they both have the requisite info.)

Here is my question. I'm looking at the Kyuuto Lacy Crochet book and it seems like it would have some really interesting and unique ideas in it. But I can only find so many reviews on it, and they're mostly mixed - some say it has really good ideas, some say it's too poorly translated to work. And I can hardly find any pictures of actual projects made from the book at all. I went to my local bookstore - the largest in my area - and I couldn't find it to look at, so I was wondering: have any of you used this book, or any from the Kyuuto series? Do you think it's worth investing in? And does anyone have any pictures?
