The first two are silver, and after botching up the 3rd one in silver I've resorted to another form... I still love silversmithing but I won't make another dog tag in silver unless it involves some kind of sculpting or organic form (I got the drawings for one, just need to get to work on it). I'll post my silversmithing later.
The bottom one is made from a typical aluminum military tag... and despite being VERY scratch-resistant (silver will scratch if you just look at it wrong) and very difficult to bend, it was easier to work with... imho.
