I recently bought a tiny sewing machine similar to the ones seen on TV. It's called the "Dressmaker" and I got it at Canadian Tire. (If you're in the US and the site asks for your postal code, just use this one: M2N 1L8)

Does anybody out there own it or one like it?? Because I am in the process of making pajama shorts (my first project sewing clothes) and I'm having trouble figuring out how to backstitch on this machine. Is it possible that the function isn't included at all? Or am I doing something wrong? What should I do to reinforce my seams if there is no backstitch function? I am very new to sewing so any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated!!

By the way, in case anybody is in search of a good PJ pattern, the one I'm using is McCall's #3856.
