craftgrrl | Those Darn Tophats

Last week I had a question about tophats, and promised to post finished pictures. Here it goes. I'm not satisfied with them, they're too floppy. If I had it to do over again I'd line them with posterboard. As is they're a sandwich of silk, interfacing, and felt.

Now I'm working on some easy pajama pants for my brothers, because I know they'll turn out well. Hopefully the scrub top I plan on making for my mom will be just as easy! Then it's on to quilting the quilt I finished piecing beginning of last week.

I FINALLY got a job *runs around in circles rejoicing* and I start Monday, so I need to get this stuff hammered out before then! I'm sort of sick, which doesn't help the sewing, plus I don't want to start my first full time job sick!
Oh, did I mention it's all supposed to be Christmas presents? I swear I started in November, no idea where time went. I suspect there will be some last minute shopping, and presents delayed until birthdays!
