Look what I made!
Apr. 20th, 2003 12:52 amI've been busy! First I made a bandana. I just took a square of fabric and sewed it up diagonally.
Me looking weird in the bandana. I apologize in advance for all the pictures being blurry; I have to take them myself and I suck at holding a camera steady. ^^; Anyway. Bandana picture.

Here's a closeup of the really awesome fabric I used.

Then I fixed up a hat. I bought this hat on Ebay for a few bucks and I liked it except I thought it could use a bow.
(Before..uh...again, weird picture)
So I ripped off the ugly rope thing (you can sort of see it in the picture) and sewed on a satin bow.

Here's me posing really weirdly in the hat for some reason.

And then I made those hair sticks I was talking about. I just took some wooden chopsticks and painted them in shades of red and orange and then coated with clear nail polish. Here's a small picture of me showing them off (it was really hard to get this picture. mental note: make sister hold camera next time.):
And here's a closeup from my scanner. I'm going to keep them inside the original chopstick packaging because then they look spiffy. :D

I'm thinking of making more bandanas and hair sticks and selling them online or something. Obviously if I did the hairsticks, I'd paint them less sloppily ^^; But anyway, what do you guys think a fair price should be? I'm probably going to do $3-$3.50 per bandana...but the hair thingies..I have no idea. They're so easy to make, though, and I think they'll sell pretty well. :D
I also dyed easter eggs with my mom today...they look REALLY cute, but I forgot to take pictures so you'll just have to use your imagination and pretend they're the best eggs you've ever seen in your life. ;)
Oh yeah, and since yard sale season has officially started over here, I went driving around today to a few sales. I picked up two LPs -- I made a box out of the cover of one and I'm going to use the cover of the other one and the two records to make one of those vinyl handbags. I also got the coolest book ever....a Gone With The Wind...Cookbook. I don't know yet whether I'm going to make it into an altered book or just use the recipes from it, but I might do both. Steal the recipes, write them down, and then alter it. Either way, it's the coolest thing ever! :D
Anyway, um...that's all. ^^
