Sooo my mom really wants to get into a craft, and I would REALLY like to encourage her in that, especially something she can sit and do, because she is a horrible workaholic and on her feet 18 hours a day. (I wish I were exaggerating. She makes me tired just being in the same room with me.)

I was hoping she would take to something like beading. She likes pretty, shiny things.

My question is, do any of you know of a good beginner's book or magazine for ... let's just say the completely clueless? Something that could go over basic terms like what a focal bead is, best way to attach clasps, types of clasps, types of wires, stuff like that. Possibly something that touches on color theory/complementary colors. I went to my local Hooby Looby and most of what they had seemed pretty advanced, which would probably frustrate dear ol' mum into giving up before she started. She's looked around in her area and there's not much in the way of classes for this, so a book would be most helpful.

So this is not text-only, have some recent dumpings.
