Variety, the spice of craftiness
Feb. 6th, 2009 01:28 pmI've been making a ton of things lately, having rediscovered the enormous box of scrap fabric that was hiding in the garage. Also due to not having a job, heh.
To start, here is a little felt deer:

Not super original, but gosh they are just so cute! I probably should have put wire in the legs to help them stand, though they do okay on their own.

The earrings and pendant are sculpey painted gold. The quality is not the best, but I have never been a talented sculptor. The rest is gold-plated rings in a hana-gusari pattern.

A little pouch I made to hold my knitting paraphernalia, with some fabric I had laying around. I had never made a buttonhole with a sewing machine before; previously my least favorite task of all time, now made ridiculously easy. Also, bunnies!

Muslin sleeves/armwarmers. These only took about an hour, from making the pattern to finish. Not too bad for a first try.

Short bloomers! I love this fabric, it's so soft. I made a couple pairs previously to go under skirts and dresses. It's so dang windy here that merely walking to the mailbox risks flashing your lacy unmentionables to the neighborhood. This pair is just for lounging.
I have taken to sewing a little scrap tag into the back of all the clothing I make...because otherwise I will put it on backwards half the time. :B
