So this past weekend I went antiquing and got this lovely late Victorian lamp of a lady who's skirt was a pink rose. I had to rewire it because the electric plug it came with was one of those old fashioned cloth ones, and the cloth was starting to fray. It came without a lampshade, so I had to get one of those, and embellish it to match. Then once I was done with that I decided it would be nifty to make it a mat to go under it....(not the hand crocheted runner...something else. :)

Sorry about the pics quality. Cell phone photos are all I can provide.

Because the Victorians liked fringe on their lampshades I decided to go that route.
I couldn't find the the exact kind of fringe I wanted, but I did find this other kind.
It's kind of a 1950's feel, but it's still cute...
Once I was put the pink fringe on I then used a dark green velvet ribbon to cover that.

After I had finished all of that I went to this page, and decided the mat directions provided here would be
easy enough, and a nice addition.

Thank you for looking.
Have a great Valentines Day!!!!
