Beastly hat and booties!
Mar. 13th, 2009 03:28 pmOne of my closest friends is having her first baby within the next month. We had her shower last weekend, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to make something cute and utterly ridiculous for it. The result is this silly set:

Those of you with the Happy Hooker book may recognize the hat sort of. My end product is a variation of the sock monkey hat they feature. After I finished the "monkey" face, I decided to make something a little bit more monstrous, so this is my beastly interpretation.

The ruffly trim:

I made a tiny pair of booties in two of the same colors as the hat. They look like ittle-bittle Christmas stockings. (I can't find the pattern at the moment, but I'd be happy to share it if anyone wants.)

And then I decided I must make another pair of tiny booties to match. They look like Mary Janes. (Pattern is here.)

Luckily, momma-to-be greatly approved.

I hope you enjoyed!
