X-posted from word to word in my journal, because I'm a dull person.

Again self designed, though based on a bought pattern. :< Well I didn't want to take the risk of trying to make right-sized patterns all alone, which would probably have ended in ruining the whole work. But someday, I promise, I will learn to draw sized patterns myself! o/

Design was inspired by 18th century mens' coats, explaining the wide hem and the large pleats at back. Double collars were a must when I chose the base pattern. The color I planned was black, but at the fabric store I found the loveliness, floral brown wool :>

Firstly, whole main fabric put together. Here's a good view of the lovely fabric pattern!

Back, notice the pleats!

A terrible self-taken pic D: The ready piece with buttons!

A little nicer pic of the ready back. And my hair.

And collar details.

I did a lot of changes to the base pattern. You must understand it, when you look at the original, it's awful. Now that I'm thinking, I feel like I didn't do much at all. Basically I just added much lenght and width to the hem, removed pockets and made the back pleats.

The most outstanding was, that I didn't meet any trouble at all. At all! I've never even sewn anything this big, hardly ever used patterns. Everything went nice and easy. And fast: all work was done in exactly 24 hours, though I did sleep 8 hours in the middle of two 12h sewing days. I hadn't drawn even patterns when I started counting the time. Guess if I was tired when the coat was finished? : D

I'm almost happy with the result, I only hate the sleeves. Should've done them by my own design too, not according to the pattern. This must be the proof for the pattern being pure sh..crap! : D
