So, I finally became a member of the Auntie club in my family. I have produced the two oldest grandchildren, so all my siblings got to enjoy aunt-hood and uncle-hood before my husband and I ever did. But that came to an end when my sister-in-law had a baby girl (YAY baby girls!!!). She was born February 20th and I've finally completed all the items I wanted to make for her (that is, until she's sitting up and I make a high chair/shopping cart cover).
For our family baby shower, I provided the dessert inspired from the book, Hello Cupcake!:

I can't remember the name of the font, but they were made with white chocolate and white nonpareils

Hello little lady bug

Mmmm....oreos
I also made her a little diaper cake:

It's wrapped with pink and purple pre-fold diapers (best burp clothes ever) and adorned with little sock roses

Spoon accents

And topped with a darling pink giraffe wearing ballet slippers
She wanted a diaper bag that her husband would feel comfortable carrying, so this is what I made:

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the inside, but there are a total of 4 pockets, spanning the length of the bag on each side (2 per side) a front pocket under the flap and two outside side pockets.
I had a bunch of material left over of the bag lining, so I made her a nursing cover. Hey look! Baby Dassa is there, under the cover!!!

She's just modeling, not actually feeding :)
The last item I made her was my favorite by far:

Dassa likes it!!!

I loved these so much that I made myself one as well

Ben loves it too!
I am in the process of making quite a few more of these to send with my mother-in-law to Haiti. She's a missionary and I figure these would be great for the women of Haiti. They are going to teach in an orphanage, add an addition to the orphanage and help out at a medical clinic that people start waiting in line at 2am for medical attention. I know it's not much, but I know it'll help at least a few women out...and that's good enough for me.
And of course, I didn't make this, but it's only fair to see the baby that inspired all these creations!
