I bought some sticky cork board used for covering shelves. I would've used plain vinyl, but I liked the texture of the cork. I sprayed it green, tacked it to the wall, and projected the branch-with-bird design and commenced cutting with a razor. The cutting is the most labor-intensive. From going to the store to sticking it to the wall the whole thing only took 3 hours, which isn't bad for a cool little art installation on your wall. It's not perfect, so I may take a razor to some of the rougher edges.

I did sort of steal the design from a site selling vinyl wall art. They wanted $35 + shipping. I bought sharpees, spray paint, razors, and two rolls of vinyl/cork (still haven't used all of the first one) all for $23. I plan to try out my own design next.
